Life He was born in a town of Bagnacavallo near Milan in Italy. From 1910 to 1913 he went to Modena, where he studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Modena under Roberto Fabbri, Cesare Fraccaro and Giuseppe Concio, as well as under professor Italo Zandomeneghi. From 1915 to 1921 he travelled to Rome and France. In 1917 he began exhibiting his first "psychological" paintings at the Accademia di Belle Arti of Modena and at the Brera Academy in Milan. From 1919 to 1919, at the Accademia of Modena, he exhibited his first large canvases, one of which, Le ballerine, was considered to be a masterpiece of his first period. In 1920 he moved to Milan, where he exhibited his first works in Paris, then he moved to Paris again, but settled in Bologna, where he worked for many years. From 1925 he began to exhibit at the Venice Biennale, along with Emilio Vedova. From then on, he was also among the Italian exhibitors at the Venice Biennale, until 1955. In 1927 Lazzari attended the first and second Academies of the French Académie des Beaux-Arts. In 1942, he painted a "coupé" for the President of the Italian Republic, and his portrait was hung in the Sala del Risorgimento in the Palazzo del Quirinale in Rome. From 1960 to 1962 he was a professor of landscape painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti of Bologna. He then became a professor at the Accademia di Belle Arti of Brera in Milan.
